Bruce Lee-Bruce Lee be like water

A martial artist, an actor, a legend, the inspiration “Bruce Lee” was born on 24th November 1940 in China town, San Francisco.

Bruce Lee was introduced to the movie industry by his father. He had a great career in the Movie industry but unfortunately, the hero died at the age of 32. But he left an inspiration to the people that anyone can be great in life if, decided.

Bruce Lee was originally trained for a kung-fu style Wing Chun by his grandmaster Yip man but later on, he progressed in fighting and he invented the new style ” jeet kune do”  which is based on the philosophy Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless.His approach to martial arts was broad-based, and he believed that creativity could only be achieved if you apply it without restrictions through freedom of mind.

After many years of his death, the legend is still an inspiration to ones who believe in fitness and health. So today we are going to talk about some of the workout habits and the diet routine of the Legend “Bruce Lee”.

So here we go!

Bruce Lee’s workout routine:-

Punches:- Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

  1. Jab-Speed Bag, Foam Pad, Top and Bottom Bag
  2. Cross-Foam Pad, Heavy Bag, Top and Bottom Bag
  3. Hook-Heavy Bag, Foam Pad, Top and Bottom Bag
  4. Overhand Cross-Pad, Heavy Bag
  5. Combinations- Heavy Bag, Top and Bottom Bag
  6. Platform Speed Bag Workout

Kicks:- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

  1. Side Kick
  2. Hook Kick
  3. Spin Kick
  4. Rear and Front Thrust
  5. Heel Kick

Endurance training wasn’t an afterthought to Lee. He knew his strength training was limited without an equal focus on stamina, and he used several modalities to achieve his supreme levels of cardio conditioning.

He used to do Running, Jump rope and cycling.

While focusing on fitness you need to focus equally on your strength and stamina, because if you do not have stamina then it will be hard for you to workout.
Lee used to do Gym exercises too, to make his body lean and in control.

While talking about fitness it is not complete without talking about correct diet and nutrition. Because when you workout your body development relies on 30% Gym and 70% Diet, so here we go with the-

Being a hard-training athlete who spent hours every day on exercising, Lee was very choosy about his diet. He did not consume any such food, which he thought could weaken him or harm his body. He had a special liking for Chinese food since he believed that it contains vegetables and rice that are rich in carbohydrates.

Bruce lee avoided flour and baked products such as cookies, cakes etc because according to him these are empty calories and it will do nothing to the body.Pasta, spaghetti and rice were what Bruce considered to be his most valuable sources of carbohydrates.

Eat less but more frequently, Lee believed in a fact that you do not have to consume all food at once it slows down your metabolism and turns the calories into useless fats, but according to Linda Lee (Lee’s Widow) He used to eat 5 times a day but not in a large portions but cutting the same one meal into 5 times.

Honey and Ginseng, His favourite drink for energy were ‘Royal Jelly’ (a drink apparently comprised of honey of the Queen Bees) mixed with Ginseng. He would often take this drink on set as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recalled that he would open them during breaks between filming ‘The Game of Death’. The reason for this drink was because it would give him a quick source of energy, rather than having to rely on slow releasing carbohydrates constantly which can make oneself tired of consuming. As Bruce said “I take a little Royal Jelly beforehand and Voom! My energy levels are perfect”.

Bruce Lee was really serious about balanced diet and he followed that diet devotedly, and he managed to get that body with full of beautification and stamina and agility. Lee was a hero, is a hero and will be a hero forever because we
have excuses now he had not.

Lee also said many inspiring quotes one of them is “Water”

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”

Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.

If you always put the limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.


A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a foolish can learn from a wise answer.


 

We can not stop talking about this legend because his works are endless, I just wanted to talk about the legend because I know there are many fitness enthusiasts who are seeking inspiration subconsciously, and Bruce Lee was born on 1940  Dude! I mean this is nearly 78 years back and he was so conscious about fitness but we are now in the modern era we have everything we want, What is your excuse?
